Library Databases
Most databases the library subscribes due are searched via Discovery, however there are some that aren't. Below is a list of databases you may want to use outside of Discovery in order to find relevant resources for your presentation.
- Canadian Encyclopedia This link opens in a new windowCanada's national, interactive encyclopedia covering all branches of knowledge. Articles are available in English and French. Multimedia content includes images, maps, games, audio and video.
- GEOSCAN This link opens in a new windowRepository for the scientific publications of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). Primarily earth science related publications, as well as National Atlas maps, topographic maps, and geological maps.
- JSTOR This link opens in a new windowJSTOR is a full-text archival collection of core scholarly journals in the arts, humanities and sciences. Collections: Arts & Sciences l / Arts & Sciences II / Language & Literature.
- Oxford Companion to Canadian History This link opens in a new windowThis is the essential reference title for all those interested in Canadian History. From the Norse to Nunavut, The Oxford Companion to Canadian History provides an authoritative and comprehensive guide to the significant events, issues, institutions, places, and people that have shaped Canada from earliest times to the present.

- Earth Impact DatabaseThe Earth Impact Database (EID) comprises a list of confirmed impact structures from around the world. To date, there are 190 confirmed impact structures in the database. The database was conceived in its earliest form when a systematic search for impact craters was initiated in 1955 by the Dominion Observatory, Ottawa, under the direction of Dr. Carlyle S. Beals.
- Federal Science LibraryThe Federal Science Library (FSL) is a one-stop, self-serve portal where you can access library services and search the print collections and repositories of seven science-based departments and agencies from a single place. Wherever possible, departmental publications, reports, data sets and other content are freely available for anyone to access or download.
